GENERAL STATEMENT REGARDING THE INFORMATION TEXT AND INFORMATION REQUEST IN ACCORDANCE WITH LAW NO. 6698 ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
This text is prepared to fulfill the “Information Obligation” within the scope of Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles to be Followed in Fulfilling the Information Obligation; This document has been prepared by the Turkish Sufi Music and Folklore Research and Preservation Foundation (TTMFAV), acting as the data controller, to provide information regarding personal data processing activities conducted through closed-circuit camera systems and to explain the application procedures for the rights of data subjects under Article 11 of the Law.

This document aims to provide the most transparent information about the legal grounds for collecting personal data, the method of collection, how it is stored, the purposes of processing, and the data processing processes.
Processing of Personal Data Transmitted Through Communication Channels
Your personal data, which you have transmitted to us through the communication channel on our website, is processed for the purposes of conducting communication activities, tracking and responding to requests and complaints, and managing emergency processes. This personal data is processed automatically based on the legal grounds that it is necessary for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligations, as per Article 5 of the KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law), and that data processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right.
This personal data you have transmitted is only processed within TTMFAV and, as a rule, is not transferred to third parties. In cases of necessity, it may be transferred to authorized public institutions and organizations, IT/hosting/email infrastructure providers, and legal advisors in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK. If deemed necessary by TTMFAV, you may be contacted and information requested regarding the accuracy of your personal data. All these processes are carried out in accordance with the KVKK, our Privacy Policy, and other relevant legislation.
Personal Data Processing Activities Conducted Through Closed-Circuit Recording (CCTV) Systems
The personal data processing activities carried out by TTMFAV at building entrances and exits and within the buildings are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), and other relevant legislation. The TTMFAV technical team processes personal data through audio and video recording via a closed-circuit camera system (CCTV) on its premises to ensure legal and technical security. In this context, data processing activities are carried out by monitoring and recording audio at entrance and exit doors, building facades, and facilities using security cameras, and by recording the entry and exit of guests to ensure security.
2.1. Legal Basis and Method of Personal Data Collection
The camera monitoring and audio and video recording activities carried out by TTMFAV are conducted in accordance with Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services and the regulations related to the implementation of this law, based on the legitimate interests and legal grounds of the institution.
Personal data is processed automatically via closed-circuit camera systems in electronic environments for the purpose of ensuring the security of buildings, based on the legal grounds of “necessity for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligations” and “necessity for the processing of data for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject” as stated in Article 5 of the KVKK (Law on Protection of Personal Data).
2.2. Announcement of Monitoring Activities
TTMFAV informs the personal data owner in accordance with Article 10 of the KVKK. To prevent harm to the fundamental rights and freedoms of the personal data owner, and to ensure transparency and information, notification regarding camera surveillance activities is made through multiple methods, and notices regarding monitoring are posted at the foundation’s entrance and in various locations.
2.3. Purpose and Limitation of Monitoring Activities
TTMFAV processes personal data in accordance with Article 4 of the KVKK in a manner that is relevant, limited, and proportionate to the purpose for which it is processed. The purpose of conducting closed-circuit camera surveillance is limited to the purposes listed in this text. Accordingly, the areas of surveillance, the number of security cameras, and the timing of surveillance are implemented only to the extent necessary to achieve the security objective. Surveillance in areas where it could infringe upon a person’s privacy beyond the scope of security objectives (e.g., changing rooms) is prohibited.
