Under the guidance of a team of expert lecturers, our foundation offers a variety of courses on Islamic studies, Sufi literature, music and folklore:
Fusûsu’l-hikem
Ibn al-‘Arabi’s work *Fusûs al-Hikam*, the most important text of theoretical Sufism, is annotated by our foundation chairman, Ahmet Özhan, using an approach informed by an ontological perspective and the notion of non-otherness.
Mesnevî-i Şerîf
In this lesson, Rumi’s famous work, the Masnavi, is interpreted by Nezih Çetin Dede in a contemporary and fluid style.
Mûsikî Meşki
With the aim of passing on and promoting Sufi music and folklore to new generations, musical practice in the classical style is being conducted under the guidance of Neyzen Hakan Alvan.
The Holy Qur’an
In these classes, which are designed to teach the Holy Qur’an, lessons are provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, and tajweed lessons are also given by Qur’an reciter and hafiz Murat Taştekin.
Islamic Aesthetics
This course, which explores all aspects of the aesthetic dimension of Islam, is delivered online by Prof. Dr Metin İzeti, a lecturer at the University of Tetovo.
Islamic Studies and Sufi Literature
In this course module, lectures on the Life of the Prophet (Siyer), Hadith, Exegesis (Tafsir), Islamic Jurisprudence (Ilmihal) and Sufism are delivered by academics who are experts in their fields. As part of the study of Sufi texts, readings are conducted from Ibn Mashish’s Salawat, the Divan of Niyazi al-Misri and Anwar al-Pir Nur al-Din al-Jarrahi, and commentaries are provided on these classical Sufi works. In addition, beginners’ and intermediate-level Ottoman Turkish language tuition is provided for those interested.
Zikrullah and Sema Practices
Educational activities are being carried out with the aim of both preserving and passing on to future generations the zikr practices associated with the kuud, kıyam and devran—which belong to the Sufi schools and could also be classified as part of intangible cultural heritage—as well as the sema.
