To identify, document and perform Turkish Sufi music and folklore in all their historical, aesthetic and symbolic dimensions; to research, document and preserve the garments known as ‘dervish trousseau’ and the methods used to produce them; to support academic research, publications and educational activities in these fields; and to introduce Sufi culture to society and the world in a manner true to its essence and spirit through concerts, ceremonies, exhibitions and academic conferences.

It was founded in 1967 at the premises in the courtyard of the Nureddin Cerrahi Mausoleum, where it currently operates, by Hacı Muzaffer Ozak (K.S.), who served as a voluntary custodian of the Nureddin Cerrahi Mausoleum.

ÖMER TUĞRUL İNANÇER LIBRARY

Designed as a specialized library, this collection houses numerous works on Sufism in general and the Halveti order in particular. As of today, the library contains over 10,000 cataloged books, and the cataloging process continues for both newly acquired books and existing volumes in Ottoman Turkish, Persian, Arabic, and various European languages.
